A documentary commissioned as part of a European grant project on art and culture in the Balkans, produced for SFERA International.
Working inside an EU-funded cultural programme means balancing the needs of the funder, the partners and the story itself: delivering a film that meets the project's communication goals while still holding together as a piece of documentary cinema. This is standard territory for the commissioned work I do for institutions and grant-funded initiatives.
The result is a portrait of artists and communities across the Balkans, shot on location and shaped for an international audience.
